In 3-2, we will be learning about;
We will begin our PSHE lessons by exploring the topic careers, financial capability and economic well being with a focus on borrowing and earning money. We will start by discussing the risks associated with borrowing money, we will then explore different careers focussing on what influences peoples’ choices including salaries, finally we will discuss our future ambitions. After this we will move onto water safety learning how we can be safe around water. Lastly, we will focus on internet safety, particularly cyber bullying. Alongside this, we will continue to take part in Theratime sessions weekly.
To start with, we will concentrate on our vocabulary,grammar and punctuation. We will apply the different punctuation we learn to our sentence types. We will then explore haiku poems and create one of our own. After that, we will write a newspaper report based around our shared text, ‘The Wreck of Zanzibar’ by Michael Morpurgo. Next, we will write an alternative ending to the story. Finally, we will write an explanation text linked to our Science learning, living things and their habitats.
At the beginning of the half term in Maths we will be focusing on position and direction. This will involve using our prior knowledge on shape to help us explore reflection and translation. After this, we will focus on statistics.
In Science this half term we will be learning about living things and their habitats. We will concentrate on life cycles and learn about different people who have helped nature such as David Attenborough and Jane Goodall. We will learn how plants reproduce and explore sexual and asexual reproduction.
During Geography this half term, we will be focusing on mountains of the world. We will begin by locating mountains in the UK, then mountains in the world, we will then explore the key features of mountains.
This half term we will be focusing on a range of religions; Islam, Hindu, Christianity, Judaism and Sikhism. We will be answering the key question; Why are rites of passage important? We will begin by exploring our own responsibilities. Then we will look at the responsibilities of the different religions and how they change as the person grows up. Finally, we will compare our responsibilities and explore how they might change as we get older.
